Biography
Dr. K. Govind Babu, M.D., DM is a Professor of Medical Oncology at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, India. Dr. Babu is also a Senior Medical Oncologist at Kidwai Memorial Cancer Hospital. He has been working as medical oncologist for more than 25 years. He has gained a considerable experience in the field of Medical Oncology practising as consultant at the HCG Hospitals in Bangalore and the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, where he currently serves as Professor of Medical Oncology. Dr. K Govind Babu earned his MD in General Medicine from the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, and DM in Oncology from the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. Dr Babu's key areas of expertise are solid tumors and hemato-oncology and he is keenly involved in targeted therapies and precision medicine. He has authored and co-authored more than 120 publications in national and international journals and text books and has delivered more than 160 presentations at local and worldwide events. He has been awarded several recognitions. He has received training at the Dana Farber and MD Anderson centre in the USA. He is a recipient of many national and international awards and has been a part of many national and international researches, including clinical trials in oncology. Dr. Babu is currently the Vice President of the Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (ISMPO).
